What is a dry & tickly cough?

A dry & tickly cough is a non-productive cough and no phlegm is produced.

  • Dry coughs are often caused by viral illnesses such as cold and flu

What to do if you have a persistent dry & tickly cough?

Most coughs go away on their own within 3 weeks, and there’s usually no need to see a doctor.
However, if your cough is persistent and you have had it for more than 3 weeks, you should contact your GP.

Children’s dry cough:

If the child is feeding, drinking, eating and breathing normally and there’s no wheezing, a cough isn’t usually anything to worry about.
